Assemblage Art

A book centered around the concept of hoarding, with assemblage art as its main theme; as stated in the subtitle: Beyond ordinary objects lie extraordinary stories. The dust jacket is a collage which I selected from the artworks of the artist featured in the book, reflecting the theme of assemblage art. As a designer, I engage in creating assemblage art myself. The cover underneath the dust jacket features a solid-colored cover that contrasts significantly with the dust jacket. This color evokes a sense of raw material, which is precisely the essence of assemblage art.

I integrate the concept of assemblage into the layout design, treating text and images as objects and stacking them together. The font I used is Helvetica because it can be said to be the most common font, just as the assemblage art uses everyday objects. Meanwhile, all the quotes in the article have been turned gray to facilitate readers' skimming through and quickly grasping the essence of the article.

However, for showcasing the artist's works, I provide ample space, allowing the pieces to breathe.

I have incorporated some visual breaks: all the interview pages are colored. This is to provide readers with some visual stimulation and to prevent them from feeling bored.
