The Artist Is Present
An exhibition catalog inspired by Marina Abramovic’s exhibition, “The Artist Is Present,” features multiple images cut into two parts and distributed across different pages to evoke an interactive sensation. Readers cannot find all the information on a single page; instead, they must link the corresponding parts together using their gaze. This treatment encourages participants to engage in thoughtful contemplation, requiring additional time to digest the subject matter. It also reflects the content of the artwork 'The Artist Is Present,' where the artist sits at one end of the table while the audience sits at the other, engaging in communication through mutual gaze.
I designed the timeline to follow a different reading direction from the book's content. This approach makes the readers more engaged and encourages them to explore the entire book in a different direction, reflecting Marina Abramovic's novelty and unpredictability.
